Ball Mastery - (<-- click on link)
The focus is on the key foundational skill of Ball Mastery. Nothing good in soccer happens without the ball so developing the touch and coordination to keep it and to shoot, pass or dribble effectively is a critical skill for every soccer player.
First Touch- (<-- click on link)
The focus is on the next key foundational skill of first touch and its importance in receiving and passing.
Make Your Move - (<-- click on link)
The focus is on our favorite part of the game. Moves 1V1. As we discussed in previous lessons soccer is a fast placed game where often one possession or one touch can change a game. The ability to gain space to pass or shoot under pressure is critical and is one of the most prized skills in the game. The way to get this edge is to develop your moves.
Speed- (<-- click on link)
One of the biggest mistakes we coaches often make is not spending enough time on speed development. Perhaps when we recognize that not everyone is blessed with Thierry Henry or Landon Donovan speed we feel our time is better spent on skill development
Finishing- (<-- click on link)
As a coach we realize how vital it is to develop good finishing skills. Not just for strikers but midfielders and defenders as well. If you don’t score you don’t win and learning how to convert the scoring chances you get or make for yourself is a most critical soccer skill.
Group Play- (<-- click on link)
We focus on the very essence of soccer itself …small group play.
Our players must learn to work with their teammates in close quarters, crisply passing and receiving…cutting and chopping, stopping and starting, faking and feinting, giving and going and creating and taking scoring chances…...this is the kind of work that will produce our own sleight of foot Zidanes and Ronaldinhos and goal grabbing Rooneys.
