Hoop Group Tournament - Recap

After just two practices, our girls performed well.

The first game was tough.  At half time, our Peace girls only had 5 points and were down by more than 20.  During the last 10 minutes of the game, our girls rallied and scored 15 points.  This put us within 25 points.  While the loss was by large (45-20,) the girls played until the last buzzer sounded.  This was a great experience for our first game.

Now we are aware of the talents of our competition.

The second game was a heartbreaker.  After leading the opposing team by as many as 9 points, we lost by 4 points (37-41.)  Our Peace team played hard and played as a team.  During the first half we took care of the ball and we ran our offense well.  Isabel Casiraghi led the team with scoring followed by Brooke Kelly and Megan Lenihan.  During the last 2-1/2 minutes of the game we lost focus and game slipped away.While we left New Jersey with two losses, I am definitely encouraged by the level of talent on our team.

As the team continues to get to know one another and as we improve with each practice, I am certain this year's AAU season will be a blast!
