Wednesday/Thursday USA Training
Spring 2008 Schedule
The United Soccer Academy Training Program is a 10 week program for Division’s 4, 5 & 6 meeting twice a week (Wednesday & Thursday) and will entail a clinic environment.   Starting April 16th 
 
Professional trainers will organize a one hour program. The program sets a solid foundation for players to advance. Emphasis is on the continued development of fundamental skills and careful consideration given to prioritize the most relevant techniques to master at the age level of the group.

Wednesday sessions will be on field #3 and Thursday sessions will be on field #3.
 
To sign up for open training sessions, contact Jim Farley, Director of Training.
NOTE:
Please make sure to include the Division that you play in and whether you have a boys or girls team. This will allow for proper grouping when-ever possible.

Monday Goalie Training Program
For The Instructional Program

Instructional Coaches,  

This Spring, MOSC will again host goalkeeper training for our instructional program. Our training partner, United Soccer Academy (USA) will conduct two sessions on consecutive Mondays at Turkey Brook Park starting April 28th, 2008.

 

The sessions will be broken down as follows:
 
   Session 1 - Division 6                      5:00 PM to 6:00 PM
   Session 2 - Division 4 & 5                6:00 PM to 7:00 PM

The goalkeeping clinic is a specialized course which will enable goalkeeper of all abilities to improve their skills and knowledge of the position. Goalkeepers will be taken through many important aspects of the game through a series of individual and group exercises designed to improve handling, positioning, agility, communication, distribution, footwork and many other aspects of the game. The program is progressive allowing all goalkeepers to improve at there own pace.

The topics for each week are stated below:

Division 6 (1st - 2nd Grade)
1. Handling Technique, (Bubble Position of hands)
2. Dealing with lower and higher balls
3. Introduction to low diving
4. Recap/Distribution
 
Division 4 & 5 (3rd - 8th Grade)
Week 1: Handling and Footwork
Week 2: Diving and Positioning
Week 3: One v One and Narrowing the Angle
Week 4: Distribution and Overview.
