Anchoring Goals

Coaches are reminded that it is their responsibility to double check goals prior to the start of both practices and games.  This especially applies to those teams playing at Turkey Brook Park where the wind is usually on the strong side and the potential for goals being blown over is extremely high.  There are additional "J" hooks inside the coaches shed if needed.  Goals without anchors should be flipped over to prevent them from being blown or knocked over accidentally.

For the turf field at Turkey Brook and for grass fields at other locations , use sandbag goal anchors.  Use at least 2 anchors per goal.  Sand bags placed near the front of the goal may not be effective and could allow the goal to tip over.

NEVER use rocks, metal fence stakes, or other hard objects to weight the rear of the nets. The keeper could fall on these, resulting in injuries.
For grass fields at Turkey Brook, use J-hook anchors.  Use at least 2 anchors per goal.  Anchors placed near the front of the goal may not be effective and could allow the goal to tip over.  There are hammers attached to buckets in the coaches shed that can be used to hammer the anchors into the ground.
